• I am sure it would work for that purpose. I had some spreadsheet files on a rewritable CD (that's CD, not DVD) and I could read them on my Windows PC. I also used it to transcribe family DVD videos to MP4 format. For this second purpose, I used the free version of VideoProc Converter AI.
