A:AnswerI use a Hauppauge converter - play the VHS tables on a VHS player and capture the video using Nero (any product will do for the capture). Hauppauge makes a good reliable product at a good price. Once you've captured it to your hard drive, you can burn to a DVD.

A:AnswerYes, I just bought the Dell316 external drive and it DOES work on my Mac. To be honest though I have only used so far to import my music CDs into iTunes and it works great, incredibly fast actually. I have not used it for playing DVDs or Burning discs yet but I am guessing it should be fine since I am not having issues with playing or downloading files from CDs so far. It was easy Plug & Play, Unit didn't ask to download any special software to work.
