QuestionHas anyone tried this on Microsoft Surface Laptop? Someone said they had problems w/their laptop's admin settings not allowing it to work & Microsoft doesn't have portable DVD in their store and the Surface doesn't come with one. Thanks,

- Answer I don't see why it wouldn't, but you would have to try it and see. The nice thing about Best Buy is that they will take it back and refund your money quite easily if you have the receipt.

- Answer I installed H&R Block on both, Windows based laptop and Apple laptop. No issues at all. So, I believe Turbox Tax installation should not be a problem. But, again I did not install Turbo Tax.

- Answer It's class compliant, as far as I can tell, so d/l of software is not necessary to run this device. Google turned up a "compatibility list" from Dell, however: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-usb-slim-dvd-rw-drive-dw316/apd/429-aaux/storage-drives-media Good luck!

QuestionCan I play a movie DVD directly from the drive, or do I have to download the DVD content onto my computer? The last drive I had recommended not to play the DVD from the drive itself.

- Answer You can use it to watch DVD's on your laptop but you cannot plug it directly into a TV. You can however plug your laptop into the TV and the DVD into your laptop and watch it on the big screen.
