• You CAN buy pre-ground espresso, but it's better to grind your own right before use. A burr grinder is best for that. Alternatively, since this unit includes a "pod filter", you can buy pre-made "pucks" called E.S.E. (easy serve espresso) for those times you don't want to grind and tamp your grounds.

• You have to grind it. We picked up a Hamilton beach grinder that does the job.
