“I am using the receiver to power about 10 speakers installed in my ceiling. I just want to play CDs No sound comes out in any mode except the Bluetooth is loud and clear. I have tried all the all the inputs. The FM tuner does not work either.”

You're not using the AVR as it was designed. The S540BT is a 5 channel receiver so you can only connect up to 5 speakers. We do not recommend any Series or Parallel speaker applications as you could cause damage to the amp either by lowering the impedance beyond its tolerance or not outputting enough wattage per channel. I would advise looking into a whole home distribution amp for what you want to do and use the AVR in a 5.1 home theater application as it was designed. I don't know at this point if the AVR was already damaged by the application, so my advice there would be to contact our Support team to have them troubleshoot the audio issues.
