“I have hook up with speakers for surround sound all of a sudden there was no sound and receiver switched to micro phone setting I tried to set it back to cbl/sat for the cable with remote and manual on receiver won't go, are my speakers dead?”

i don't think your speakers are dead just do what the receiver is telling you to do. & them you can do watheveer you want.
