I have two of these, one on a 5.1 +2 outside zone 2 speakers with the second unit in my theater room 7.1. All my 6.5” speakers are greater than 100 watts and I don’t have to crank the volume passed 50. However, to get them playing this way you will have to learn how to manipulate the settings. Like increasing the “source input” and “channel level” while also ensuring you are using the best “sound mode” for your input. For example when I AirPlay Apple Music, this unit uses HEOS, I select multi ch stereos while my TV input uses Atmos or Surround.

This is important as a speakers demand will fluctuate during playback. The Denon AVR-X3700H can also Bi Amp the front LT and RT speakers.
