Box states you can't charge original sony FW50 in this charger and you can't charge the refuel battery in the camera (I just purchased the Sony Alpha a6500)... is that true? Will the battery explode or ruin the camera/charger if accidently switched? null

I have to admit, I never read the box. Not only do I charge in the camera body but I charge the original a6000 battery in this charger. Haha. So I do both and never had an issue.

I charged the original Sony Alpha a6500 battery with this charger and it did not harm the charger or camera battery.

Don't know for sure but I've taken their word on it and used it as directed.
