“Why does some replies to the question if this charger will work for NB-L13 batteries say "yes" and others say "no"? One person said he found out the hard and expensive way that it does not work. Sooooo what is the correct answer?”

Yes, it does work. Just need to make sure the battery settles in all the way inside the charger to that the charging pins connect and the battery chargers fully. When the battery is inserted properly, the LCD screen will light and show charging indicator.
