“The charger works when plugged into the electric socket at the store. It does not work in any electrical socket in my house. Stor says 85% charged, Camera does not turn on.”

That's very odd. I would simply try to exchange for another charger and see if the same issue arises once more. Also, please connect the charger into the wall, once the screen comes on, go ahead and insert the battery. Sometimes the charger needs to be plugged in by itself before inserting the battery into it. Try that and see if that works for you.
