Yes it is. Alot of people use an ipad pro or ipad mini. Alot easier to see with a bigger screen. Check out DJI website for more answers for comparison

Yes it is compatible 
I use an iPad mini 4 fits right in the bottom of the controller perfectly. You can also use larger tablet with an adapter.

It works with an iPad perfectly. Regarding other tablets, you need to look into their approved lists.

Yes it is. Since my crystal sky does not work, I use my Nvidia shield. The tablet and phone apps have been updated to work with both models.
