I actually tried this out with some old keycaps that I have. With the LEDs below (facing the front) they do not illuminate the back side of the keycaps. So depending on where the shine through is, the position of the LEDs might matter. I don’t know if one orientation is considered more “normal” than another, since I’ve seen both keyboards and keycaps designed for front-facing LEDs or LEDs behind the switches. But definitely look for keycaps that are designed to work with LEDs in front of the switches.

Please try again later.Yeah it comes with a tool so you can easily remove the keycaps and put on ones you buy aftermarket if you want to have light shine through the top of the keys. The RGB on the switches is upright like any keyboard. It's just the pressing point of the provided keycaps are opaque so no light comes through.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The illumination in this keyboard is similar to others. Some models have the LEDs behind the switch instead of in front, but either position should give you roughly the same effect for illuminating shine-through keys.
