Does this purifier the air? null

Hi Dawn, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson AM09 Fan + Heater will not purify the air. That being said, we do carry air purifiers that will offer both a fan and heater, like this model does. Best Wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
