Hi Sam, this is Kelly with Dyson. The 360° sealed HEPA and activated charcoal filters are designed to remove gases and capture 99.97% of microscopic allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including bacteria, mold, odors from cooking, scented candles and car exhausts. With regard to viruses, specifically the Corona virus, Dyson purifiers are scientifically tested to capture particles as small as allergens and viruses, but we want to be clear that at this time, no purifier manufacturer—including Dyson—can speak to their products’ performance against the COVID-19 virus. As the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus outbreak are developing and ever-changing, nobody as yet knows with certainty how this virus behaves, so we recommend people follow guidance on COVID-19 virus prevention from the relevant local public health bodies. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Dyson claims the HEPA filter a they use traps particles down to .3 micron at 99.97%. Viruses typically are .005-.3 micron in size so yes it could catch some virus particles. Will it catch 99.97%, probably not.
