“Can this unit be used in a closed garage? Is there anything in the unit that could spark thus causing a possible fire around cars and lawnmowers?”

• No sparking, no exposed heating coils. Should be fine in a garage. Just don't expect to control it from another room over wifi if you need heat. It's disabled in the wifi app. A standup, oil filled, electric radiator type heater would be a much better option.
