Hi Keith, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your remote control, for your TP01 Pure Cool Tower. To operate the machine without the remote control, the standby button on the front of the unit turns the appliance ON/OFF. To adjust airflow, press and hold that button. Airflow will increase to a maximum, before decreasing. The oscillation and timer functions cannot be operated without the remote control. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
