To change/reset the filter on your unit without using the remote control, ensure the purifier is unplugged, and press both buttons to lift off the loop amplifier. Remove your old filter, and install the new filter. You will then lower the loop amplifier onto the base until it clocks and locks. When you have reassembled your machine, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 6 seconds on the front of the unit. A clockwise rotating pattern will be shown on the LED display. Once the loading pattern is complete, the purifier will return to its normal usage.

The bigger the room, the longer the machine will take to purify it as there is more air in the atmosphere. For instance in a room of 139ft², the machine will purify the room in 25 min. Environmental factors that can affect purification time would include the outdoor air quality, along with the number of windows and doors that you have in the home.

With regard to the unit's filter, it's not washable or reusable as that would damage the integrity of the filter and how it works to remove allergens and harmful particles from the air. We recommend replacing your air purifier filter every 12 months. This is because over time, filters can get clogged with pollutants, and even let unpleasant odors back into the room. Your purifying fan will alert you when it's time to change the filter.
Please check with your local municipality for recycling options for your Dyson purifier filter.

A:AnswerHello Lisa, this is Kelly with Dyson. The TP01 Pure Cool Tower can be turned ON/OFF but pressing the standby button on the front of the machine. Press and hold that button to adjust airflow. Airflow will increase to a maximum, before decreasing. The oscillation and timer functions cannot be used, without the remote control. To purchase a replacement remote control, you may visit the Dyson website.
