You need one in each room if it is self contained, such as bedrooms. I have this model in my living room which is open to the dining room and kitchen. However, you can only get readings for the room location of the machine. I can't tell you for sure it is purifying the other rooms.

Hello Curt, this is Kelly with Dyson. That would depend on your home, and how open the floor plan is. If you leave doors open and windows closed, you will see benefits of a more whole-home purification. However, that will only extend so far. If you're looking for something for whole home, and only wishing to purchase one device, we'd suggest placing the TP07 in a larger room such as a living or family room.
