“Can the fan/heater be used with the purification function turned off? When it is time to replace the filters, can we continue to use the device without replacing them? I don't always need the purification function on - only during the spring season.”

1...no 2...yes but no best filtering. Replace filter when it tells you! inexpensive... 3...this Dyson removes formaldehyde from the air. A very good reason to use it all year. Picks up dust in the air too!

Please try again later.The Dyson Pure Humidify + Cool comes with a humidifying function, which the brand claims will automatically maintain the optimum moisture level in your air, making for a more comfortable environment. You can turn off the humidification function if you want to so that the machine operates as a purifying fan.

The Dyson HP09 is primarily a purifying fan so as long as it's running, the unit will be actively purifying the air in your space. Our purifying fans work to remove a range of contaminants from the air. It purifies to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from the home. It also removes pollen, pet dander and odors such as cigarette smoke and cooking smells and detects and destroys formaldehyde. For the best performance, we recommend replacing the HEPA filter every 12 months if the purifier is used an average of 24 hours a day.
