You simply set the temp you would like and the unit will hold that temperature fairly well. usually if it drops about 1°-2° below your set temp it will kick back on and maintain whatever setting you have it at. And it does a very good job. It will also drop down to extremely low or off once it hits the desired temp so it won’t just continuously run and melt you out of the house. So in a nutshell: Yes. If you set it at 70°, the unit will maintain 70° turning on and off as needed to keep the temperature constant. Hope this helps!

For the Dyson HP07, once the set temperature is reached, the heating element will turn off while the purifier continues to run.
