Some hats are black, 
others are gray.  
I think they chose that color, 
cause it's better that way.  
Never have I seen a panel, 
in a color other than black.
If it gets to hot,
I shall put it in its sack.

You are right. I have worn the hat when temps were 34°c and in the direct sun the black rim was hot. But I guess I could be powering a USB fan with all the power it was making.
