“First, do these have an onboard DAC? If not, can you run an RCA out from a FiiO K5 Pro Dac/Amplifier into the Edifiers so to take advantage of the FiiO DAC? I ask because most computer DACs are said to be notoriously inferior.”

The powered speaker connects via RCA ports (includes RCA -RCA and RCA -headphone cables). if your preferred DAC has those outputs, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The second speaker is powered off the first and connects with standard speaker wire (included).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Although these are powered speakers, I have mine running from a Schiit Magni 3 headphone amp (line out, not the headphone jack) using a L/R set of RCA cables, and they sound marvelous.
