• If you leave a small amount on the bottom and let it sit too long, yes. I’ve had it happen once.

• No. It keeps the coffee warm, up to 145 F but it does not cook or burn. I have taken 2 hours to drink one cup and it tasted the same as when I poured it.

• Hi Lynne, thanks for reaching out! The Ember will maintain the preferred temperature and is only able to reach a temperature of up to 145°F, so it is unlikely that this would occur.
