There is some degree of fade when the light is bright. It can be compensated for and brought to a watchable quality by making some adjustments to the picture, specifically increase the brightness to 100% and increase the color saturation to 100%. The only time that the picture goes below watchable quality is when the sun shines directly through an uncurtained window from a low angle in the sky.
