• You do lose a little bit of photo when you put them too close to the edges of the glass.

• Hello HawaiianShirts. The V39 II Scanner has a maximum scan area of 8.5" x 11.7". As long as your picture dimensions are equal or less, it should scan the entire area. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
