My daughter (who is more tech savvy than I am) was digitizing photos larger than the size of the scanner by "stitching" them together. She got very good at it and they came out very good with this scanner. She also stitched photos to the backs of the photo where there was writing that she wanted to keep with the photo.

However, the Epson ScanSmart software includes an Advanced Image Stitching feature that allows you to scan the image in sections and then combine them into a complete photo afterward.
