It works normal with a laser mouse. I have not had a problem using my laser mouse on it. It's really responsive to my movement and never lags. I recommend that you buy it, having a laser mouse shouldn't affect it. The particular wireless mouse and keyboard that I use is a Logitech MK530, that can also be purchased at bestbuy.
