Yes your right it is false advertising and all on the sellers seem to be doing it.Its a battery tiny at the with a small inverter in a box with a quarter of a kilowatt at best! You can buy one mariner battery and a cheap inverter for a lot less and have four times as much power.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Following up on the 2nd "answer" there are marine batteries available that are based on LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry rather than lead. The original answer was posted about a year ago and was probably using the current "was" price (which is >$300) as his basis for the a lot cheaper claim. A LiFePO4 marine battery rated around 1 kW-hr can certainly be had for a lot less than that >$300. However, BB is now selling this power station (it's not a generator) for <$200. BB's policy is don't post external links here, so you need to learn to effectively use a search engine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm trying real hard to find this cheap mariner battery and inverter for under $200 with 4 times the power. Just coming up empty. Marine batteries are nearly $200 alone. Not to mention heavy, as well, lead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The idea is that you also buy a solar panel to recharge this with (optional). Then it's able to replace a small gas generator for use camping or whatever. This piece by itself is indeed just a battery pack with an inverter integrated. Because of the intended use case along with solar, these types of products are all referred to as solar generators as that's the product they're intended to replace.
