Hi, JC. Thanks for your question. A garage heater kit is not required for this model; it performs well between a 50 and 110-degree ambient. Below 50 degree ambient, the freezer control should be adjusted to the coldest setting. The fridge will operate down to 39 degrees ambient, but there is the risk of food items freezing in the fresh food compartment. To reduce the risk of food freezing, the fresh food control should be adjusted to a warmer setting.
