Hey, Lamps! The model you selected can use either tap or bottled water and does not have a filter. The icemaker can hold the ice for up to 8 hours and will need to be completely dry before storing to protect it. ~Courtney
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use tap water. It does not filter it. You could easily use bottled/purified water if you chose to. I keep mine plugged in continuously, so I always have ice. If it melts, it is recirculated. I don’t think unplugging and covering would harm it. I do think you would need to make sure it was completely wiped down and dried out before storing.
