There is a float in the bottom of the reservoir and when the water collects and the float comes up to the “stop”, it switches off the machine and the LCD displays E with a flashing power button. The ice maker pours water over the ice collectors and until the water freezes it collects in the reservoir and is pumped back up to the ice collectors. If too much water gets in the reservoir the float will cut off the machine. You can use a small cup to remove water from the reservoir until the float moves down and restores power.
