Does the unit absolutely require a window vent? It says it's a 3 in one design? I'm ok to have to empty water tank null

Hi, as for the vent you most definitely have to vent the hot air out of the space or room, as for the water you only need to drain it if you use the dehumidifier mode or fan only mode, but for using the AC unit you only empty it when you are ready to store the unit away for the winter, you're not supposed to empty it while using it all summer, there are s couple of good informative videos on YouTube about that, I hope this helps.

Hello. Thanks for reaching out to us! A warning that the appliance shall be stored in a well-ventilated area where the room size corresponds to the room area as specified for operation. If the air conditioner will not be used for an extended period of time, drain the water collection tank completely and leave the bottom drain cap and rubber plug off for an extended period of time to
allow any residual. Once the tank is completely drained and no more water flows out, reinstall the rubber plug and cap. We hope this information helps. - Maria
