Why is it leaking water? null

If you live in a humid climate, you may get condensation inside the cooler. I put a folded paper towel at the bottom inside and toss and replace it every now and then. If you live in a dry climate that probaly won't occur.

how do you stop it from leaking water there is no answer here to give advice

Water in the unit is caused by condensation from warm humid air in the room entering the unit, cooling and condensing into water. It can also be caused moisture in foods being stored in the unit.
