I saw a video comparison about the two cameras. apparently the only thing new or different, is that the 9 has a selfie mirror, while with the 8 you had to buy a separate lens to attach to your camera. if your not that much of a selfie person, i would say go with the 8.

Yes it is worth the additional $10 as the 9 has a selfie mirror and the 8 does not.
