Yes. It's fantastic. Get a good tripod, use the timer function, and you can go up to two minutes without a cable release. Absolutely best experience I've had thus far with a camera. And Fujifilm is always updating with new features!

Yes. In manual mode you have the option for short exposures all the way up to "bulb". With bulb you can decide when to stop the expose. As with any camera, make sure you use a sturdy tripod and a remote shutter release to get the best photos while using long exposure modes.
