Although they may be approved for use at higher temperatures, usually the temperature limit is 350F - 450F. The cooking surface could get hotter than this. They also keep radiant/halogen surface burners from heating/cycling properly. A:AnswerI also use a wooden cabinet to hold our mw. Clearance is a little over 2" on the sides. I keep an eye on it, especially while using the air fryer and convection oven features, but so far I have not noticed any problems with venting or excessive heat buildup.

Convection oven , air fryer and microwave, power is great on it , could have a better instruction book but not hard to figure out in your own. We love ours !
