“Hi When setting the microwave i saw a kind of paper/cardboard piece in silver color/coating with plastic screws inside the microwave I have removed it. wanted to check if i did the right thing. Kindly let me know Thanks VB”

I looked at it and questioned it but decided to leave it intact as I think it’s part of the microwave. This might actually be a question better asked and answered by the manufacturer. Now I’m curious to know as well.

The cardboard (mica) covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The microwave should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace.
