Hi SAFSMITH - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your 2 1/2 year old GE Microwave Model JES1460DSWW. We are sorry to hear of the odor during use and apologize for any concern and inconvenience this has caused. We recommend washing the interior with baking soda, or a non-abrasive detergent, and letting it dry. If the smell or odor persists, we recommend you try one of the following: Mix 6 tablespoons of baking soda and one cup of water or mix a solution of 1/2 cup lemon juice and one cup of water. Place either solution in a microwave safe dish of appropriate size and heat for 2 to 3 minutes on high power. If the odor continues or is an electrical odor, you may want to consider a replacement since it may not be cost effective to repair. Again, we are sorry for this experience. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Considering the purchase price, and symptoms, price of repair would exceed price of aquisition. Buy a new one.
