Hi JLim - Thanks for considering GE! Model JES1460DSWW is intended for countertop use. It should not be placed near or over a heat source. If located on the counter near a range, we recommend locating it at least 2 ft. away. Also, these microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. Allow 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. The front edge of the microwave (measured at door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. We do not recommend installing them in tight spaces, like a cabinet. We suggest GE® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven JVM3160DFWW with Two-speed, 300-CFM venting system to remove smoke, steam and odors. We suggest viewing the Quick Specs for cabinet dimensions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=340168_jvm3160df_c3.pdf - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com for all your appliance needs! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Measure the space above your stove and compare that to the specifications of the overall dimensions of the microwave. That will answer your question. Be sure to leave enough room on the width dimension to allow for the microwave to vent properly and not overheat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We purchased one and placed it into a similar space, designed for a microwave, under our counter, and it just barely cleared on the sides and left room to breathe on the top. My advice is to measure the entrance to the cabinet very precisely. The posted dimensions of the microwave are accurate but there is no room to spare.
