A:AnswerHi - Thanks so much for reaching out about a replacement microwave, we're happy to help.
All 30" Over-the-Range Microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our current 30" Over-the-Range microwave models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" Over-the-Range microwave model. Let us know if any other questions come up. -Mikayla@GEA

A:AnswerThese are all great questions and we are happy to help! Yes, you can replace your old microwave with this model, however there are some dimensional differences you should be aware of. Your old microwave has these dimensions: 16-15/32" x 29-7/8" x 15-1/16" (HxWxD). This microwave has these dimensions: 16-7/16" x 29-7/8" x 15-7/8" (HxWxD). Yes, there is vent on the bottom of this microwave that can help draw away steam from things that are cooking on a range or cooktop below. We do also offer other Stainless Steel over-the-range microwaves that have more features than this model. We suggest checking out: PSA9240SPSS, PVM9225SRSS, and PVM9179SRSS, to name a few. If there are any other questions we can help you with, let us know! -Chris@GEA

A:AnswerMicrowaves do have a fuse in them and can be checked and changed if blown. Just make sure the microwave is disconnected from the power source and that the fuse is pulled before checking it with a ohm meter for continuity. If you try checking the fuse while it is still in the fuse holder it may very well false read good because of back feeding through circuits. If the fuse is bad, make sure to replace it with the exact same size or rated fuse.
A:AnswerJust had a new GE 1.6 Cu. Ft. replacement installed from our old GE 1.6 Cu. Ft. and the installers used the old bracket instead of the new one. Better fit they said. INstalled perfectly with the old previous GE bracket.
A:AnswerThis is usually controlled by local building codes. For me the requirement was the microwave has to be a minimum of 18” above a stovetop or range.
A:AnswerHi there - thanks for reaching out! This over-the-range microwave has two incandescent surface lights on the bottom (known as the the cooktop light/nite light). You'll find more information about these on page 23 of the owner's manual: https://files.bbystatic.com/KsvkoHYUAxz6jdhCHP5SqA%3D%3D/AC290A7E-9E2A-454B-811A-7E2199371C09.pdf. A:AnswerHi there - We're happy to offer some insight into this. The automatic fan feature protects the microwave from too much heat rising from the cooktop below it. It automatically turns on if it senses too much heat. Since it's designed to protect the microwave's components to remain at acceptable operating temperature, it cannot be manually turned off. Discover more information about this feature by checking out an article entitled, "Over-the-Range Microwave - Automatic Fan Feature" on our website. Reach out if you have any questions or concerns in the future - we're glad to assist. All the best, Kelsey@GEA

A:AnswerHello there - We really appreciate you reaching out about this and we're happy to offer some insight. A Charcoal Filter Accessory Kit is required for the non-vented exhaust, but not if the microwave is going to be exhausted externally. Detailed information about an Outside Top Exhaust (Vertical Duct) starts on page 16 of the installation instructions and information for an Outside Back Exhaust (Horizontal Duct) begins on page 20 of the same installation instructions (linked on our website). We hope this helps! Connect with us if you have any further questions - we're always glad to assist. Be well, Kelsey@GEA
A:AnswerHello there - Great question! Our current stainless steel over-the-range microwaves have black sides and we believe that they complement our stainless steel ranges nicely. Thanks so much for checking. -Mikayla@GEA

A:AnswerHello- We appreciate your interest in our Over the Range microwave. This is a great model, it comes with a charcoal filter. You can purchase another filter if desired. Note: A fuse can be purchased if desired, however it isn't something that is considered consumer replaceable and would require a technician to install. If you have any additional questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
