Hi there - We're happy to offer some insight into this. The automatic fan feature protects the microwave from too much heat rising from the cooktop below it. It automatically turns on if it senses too much heat. Since it's designed to protect the microwave's components to remain at acceptable operating temperature, it cannot be manually turned off.
