Q: QuestionMy wonderful GE microwave JEB1860SM2SS is 20 years old, is used daily with no problems. However, the back edge is cracked and has some holes where the back edge touches the floor. Is it unsafe?

• A:Answer Hello there - Thanks for reaching out. We hate to hear that your 20 years old microwave is cracked. In the event of a hole in the microwave’s cavity wall, the damage is non-repairable and you should discontinue use of the product. Arcing may cause a hole to occur and, subsequently, additional arcing may occur when the microwave is used. If there is a hole in the microwave interior, we recommend that the microwave be replaced. Q: QuestionIf a over the range microwave the new skinny model is partially in the brace slot an bolted in cabinet above microwave is it possible it would bust through?

All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. • A:Answer Great question! Microwave models JVM3160DFWW and JVM3160DF1WW are the same model. The extra digit just adds some additional information to the model, much like when you add the area code to your local phone number. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. • A:Answer The installers Best Buy sent we’re terrific. They had to drill 2 holes in the cabinet above. Otherwise easy. Took 20 minutes or so. Use them.
