“My very old microwave is GE JVM 1440 BD 003. Will this one be a reasonable replacement? And fit in the same space? If not could you recommend another? Thank you.”

Stay away from GE. Mine failied within 1 year. The LED flickers while the keypad makes setting it to cook very difficult.
