“Battery backup for clock and custom settings? I live in an area with frequent power interruptions. My current microwave forgets all it's settings every time there is a power blip - and it refuses to do anything until it's clock has been reset (including month and year!). It drives me nuts - I just want a cup of tea! So I'm looking for a model that will not forget it's settings. It can be battery, capacitor, or flash memory - I don't care - just make it smarter.”

Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. This microwave will reset when it loses power. However, it does not require that the month, day and year be reset, just the clock will need to be reset. We appreciate your feedback.
