Q: QuestionWe have a cabinet depth of 12 inches. I understand that the oven will protrude about 3.25 inches. Is this within the unit's tolerances?

If you are replacing a 36" over-the-range microwave, many current 30" over-the-range microwaves offer an optional 36" filler kit to allow it to be installed in a 36" cut-out opening. We do not offer a filler kit for this model (JVM3160RFSS). Check out GE® 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven JVM6172SKSS. Optional 36" Side Filler Panel Kit JX36CSS sold separately. Also, all models can be converted to recirculating (ventless). Recirculating Charcoal Filter JX81J included. Also, check out GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Q: QuestionIf replacing my ge 30” microwave with a new ge 30” microwave can I use the existing bracket? Will it fit the new microwave?

• A:Answer Hi Bob - When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. • A:Answer Hi Alan - The microwave does not require outside venting. It can be easily converted to recirculating (non-vent). Recirculating Charcoal Filter JX81L is included. When converted to recirculating, the air will be recirculated through the disposable charcoal filter that helps remove smoke and odors. • A:Answer Unfortunately, I cannot answer that, but I can tell you that this is the 3rd microwave we have had in the past 12 or so years and every one had a different hole pattern to attach it to the wall. Not an insurmountable problem. But extra work and annoying. I would check directly with GE for an answer to your question.

• A:Answer Hi - GE® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven JVM3160RFSS does not have a reset filter option. The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage). Some models with an Upfront Filter have a Reset Filter notification light on the control panel to indicate when it is time to change the filter. The Reset Filter reminder will light every 6 months. On these models, press and hold Reset Filter for 3 seconds. Keep in touch! Sue
