- A:Answer Hi Steve- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Thank you for making GE Appliances a part of your home. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. While you can choose any model, check out our GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKS. This model has sensor cooking controls similar to your JVM1850Sh06 model. The sensor detects the steam emitted by the cooking food and automatically adjusts the cooking time and power for best results. MELT option provides worry-free melting of butter, caramel, chocolate and cheese. Also, we think you'll love the new dark gray, porcelain enamel interior with Steam Clean option. The Steam Clean feature (found on select microwave models) generates steam to re-hydrate dried spills/splatters making cleaning easier. And, the four-speed, 400-CFM venting fan system quickly removes smoke, steam and odors from the cooktop to keep kitchen air fresh and clean. Keep in touch. With so many choices, we are always glad to help make your shopping experience a bit easier! SUEatGEA

Q: QuestionI just purchased this microwave and it is extremely loud when operating. I've never heard a microwave make such a noise. Is this normal for this model or should i contact the mfg.?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Convenience Cooking Controls - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Remove the exhaust hood, make sure the exhaust system isnt restricted. While mine was running it was producing almost 80dB! removing my exhaust reduced it almost to a whisper (Something in the exhaust hood was pinning the flap if using external venting). When the exhaust is restricted it runs very loud, if the exhaust is restricted the fan speed increases. Wish their manuals was mor.e descriptive than saying noise while running is normal

Q: QuestionCan this microwave be vented to outside instead of just recirculate the air inside kitchen...?
Asked by Liberty1.
- A:Answer Yes it can. Instructions on which way the fan motor should be turned. I think it ships this way for outside venting. Very easy to turn fan motor. I switched it to recirculating, because I didn't have access above kitchen to put a vent duct to the outside.
