Q: QuestionOld Microwave is GE Model JVM3160DF3ww. Will this model match up with current installation holes (in cabinet above microwave)?. Does it use same mounting bracket?

• A:Answer The answer from GE answers is incorrect. I just installed this today and the mounting holes from the cabinet above are different. The left one is at least 3 inches different compared to the JVM3160DF3WW that you would have. The mounting bracket did still work for me though.

We normally do not suggest an exact replacement because all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66” min mounting height). Any of our new models will work in your current space. While you can choose any model as a replacement, the most comparable model is JVM3160DFWW. Thanks for checking. We appreciate your loyalty! Q: QuestionWe need pictures of the top. How did you forget that? We need to see if the punch out vent openings will work with what we have. You might even include measurements for the openings. How you sell anything when you fail to provide the fundamentals.

Q: Question2 yrs ago I purchased GE Model# JVM3160RF4SS and it recently tripped the dedicated circuit breaker when attempting to heat. The fan, light, clock, etc. work without tripping the breaker. Found several ratings with same problem. What is common failure?

Q: QuestionI have read some reviews that say the handle breaks off after only a short while. I've also read some that say there are cracks and peeling. Is this a quality control issue which has been resolved? I just bought this model today and now I'm concerned.

Q: QuestionI can only do recirculating. My above cabinets are just under 13" depth. I am concerned that the finish of the cabinets will be worn by the air flow of the air circulation . What is clearance/location of the fan of the recirculating for the microwave?

• A:Answer Hi JonS - The vent is located above the door. The microwave can be installed in a 12" min. - 13" deep cabinet. The microwave is 15 1/4" and will extend past the upper cabinet. The small amount of airflow should not affect cabinets. The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage).
