• yes you have to rotate the blower motor before installing to make it self ventilating

• yes. The air comes out just behind opening door on the right side top. Fane need to be repositioned before installation so read your directions. Also charcoal filter has to be installed for this selection BEFORE it is mounted. Again read the instructions before you mount the unit.
