“I am replacing model JVM1642WB002 and am thinking of purchasing model JVM3160DFWW as a replacement. Will this work and will I need to purchase a charcoal filter? The venting system is currently external and above the microwave door.”

Yes it will work. Filters come with new microwave.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Sissy- Yes, all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. While a charcoal filter is included and necessary for recirculating (non-vent), it will not be necessary for external venting.
