• Yes! Touch the "Vent Fan" control. There is a high and low setting.

• It works seperately. It gets some odor vented but doesn't work as well as a top vent for stoves does in my opinion.

• Yes you can use the vent options when the microwave cooking is not in use. There are two little vents located on the left and right at the back. The vent has a high and low options. There are two little light fixtures on the left and right in the front. The light fixtures have bright and dim options.
